We visit Berlin in May and the only bookings available for the free tour were beginning in July. (Book approximately 2 months advance booking required)

Memorial to Murdered Sinti and Roma

Honour the memory of the Sinti and Roma victims of Nazi persecution at this poignant memorial near the Reichstag. The abstract design and tranquil atmosphere provide a space for reflection.

We see the most enormous Red Squirrel scampering around this beautiful spot and also a lot of friendly rabbits.

Brandenburg Gate with Cory and Mandy

Brandenburg Gate (Brandenburger Tor)

Walk towards one of Berlin’s most iconic landmarks, the Brandenburg Gate. This neoclassical triumphal arch symbolizes unity and peace, making it a must-see on any Berlin itinerary.

The Brandenburg Gate, located in the Soviet-controlled East Berlin after the division of Berlin, became a focal point of the ideological and physical divide between East and West. It wasn’t until the fall of the Berlin Wall in November 1989 and the subsequent reunification of Germany in 1990 that the Brandenburg Gate once again became a symbol of unity and freedom.

Top tip for visiting the Brandenburg Gate!

Get to the Gate by 9am for photos without hundreds of other visitors and tourists.

Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe (Holocaust Memorial)
